Moko is an explorer. As he travels the world continent by continent, he makes many friends and discovers many natural phenomena which sometimes delight him, and other times scare him. Each animated episode recounts an adventure and takes an "original story" approach to explaining these natural phenomena. In this episode, the snow's thaw is drawing to a close and the mountain is shedding its white robe. Alarick and Moko are fishing in one of the mountain's springs and are catching nothing. They ask an old wise man to tell them where there might be fish. He points them towards the road to the "Ancient Mountain." They follow the road the old man told them about and reach a green luxuriant hill covered with fruit trees and streams. They think that this hill--smaller than their mountain, richer and greener--younger and simply hasn't grown up yet. Moko and Alarick explore the natural process of erosion.

Each animated episode recounts an adventure and takes an "original story" approach to explaining these natural phenomena. In this episode, Moko wants to know what lies beyond the forest and decides to go find out. Totemie comes along and after a long walk they find a mountain village. Moko, who hasn't seen the ocean in a long time, is dreaming of seeing it again, but realizes that it will be awhile before they cross this mountain and see the sea. But then, they see boats and barges. Why would there be boats on a mountain? An old man comes to them and tells them that if it is the ocean one seeks, sometimes it can be found even on a mountain. Curious, Moko and Totemie walk on into the forest and discover what can only be an ocean atop the mountain, only here they don't say ocean or sea, but rather they call it a lake. Moko believes that this lake is here in order to console the people who cannot live beside the ocean.
In each episode, viewers are given clues about a hidden animal inside a magic box. Can viewers use all the clues to correctly guess the mystery rodent in this episode? Part of the "Zoobabu" series.
Moko is an explorer. As he travels the world continent by continent, he makes many friends and discovers many natural phenomena which sometimes delight him, and other times scare him. Each animated episode recounts an adventure and takes an "original story" approach to explaining these natural phenomena. In this episode, Moko learns about water tables and how streams develop. During the dry season, the river level drops and the remaining water turns to mud. He can't swim or drink the water. A man with a strange stick points the stick to the ground, and when Moko digs down there, water gushes out! Moko learns that even if no rain falls, Mother Earth could still be generous if you know the right way to ask her.

A MIT student recreates Alexander Fleming's discovery of how bread mold kills bacteria. Fleming accidentally discovered that mold secretes the chemical penicillin, and penicillin is mold's secret weapon against bacteria.
A ball flying through the air, a deer walking in the woods, and a flowing river - these are all examples of moving objects. Students explore the characteristics of things in motion, and special attention is given to the forces that initiate and change their movement. Concepts and terminology discussed include: motion, push, pull, force, direction, and speed.
Moko is an explorer. As he travels the world continent by continent, he makes many friends and discovers many natural phenomena which sometimes delight him, and other times scare him. Each animated episode recounts an adventure and takes an "original story" approach to explaining these natural phenomena. In this episode, Moko and Mei-Lei are gathering seashells in between the rocks on the white sand beach to decorate the village's houses. Moko asks Mei-Lei if they can go to other beaches to try to find other shells. Mei-Lei likes the idea and goes to ask a fisherman to take them to another beach on his boat. Just beyond the village Moko sees a vast plain that has been flooded with water. He thinks this must have been the great wave, flooding the field with water so that the rice would grow. This is when Mei-Lei picks up a magnificent seashell and Moko believes that it must surely be a gift from the ocean. Moko and Mei-Lei make their way back home, carrying their gift and happy to have seen wonderful new places. They are certain that the ocean must know an underground passage in which it sends waves every now and then to feed the rivers and the fields.
Figure 2.6 (OpenStax, Biology 2e) caption: In 1913, Niels Bohrs developed the Bohr model in which electrons exist within principal shells. An electron normally exists in the lowest energy shell available, which is the one closest to the nucleus. Energy from a photon of light can bump it up to a higher energy shell, but this situation is unstable, and the electron quickly decays back to the ground state. In the process, it releases a photon of light.

Each animated episode recounts an adventure and takes an "original story" approach to explaining these natural phenomena. In this episode, Moko had gone to see his friend, the wise old man who lives on the other side of the village. There were such pretty flowers that Moko could spend the entire day contemplating them. The old man picked a beautiful rose and handed it to Moko. But on the way back, the sun was so hot that the flower began to wilt. Moko was so sad that he laid the withered rose on the ground and started to cry. The wind rose, sweeping across the ground. Moko then saw that his rose was still there, more beautiful than ever and sparkling, its petals solid as stone. It had become a desert rose, as rare as water in the desert.

Take a tour of the moon's surface. Images and topographic maps show craters, rocks, mountains, basins, and valleys found on the moon. These maps help improve scientific understanding of how Earth's moon and other rocky planets in the solar system evolved.

Finally ashore, Moko and Mei-Lei think that the sea still had another secret in store for them, this new part of Mei-Lei's island.
Students take a scientific look at some of the important characteristics of the earth, moon, and sun. Differences and likenesses between earth, moon, and sun are discussed as well as how scientists explore these bodies. The main phases of the moon are addressed, as is the formation of tides. Terminology includes: gravity, atmosphere, lunar phase, tides, eclipse, high tide, and low tide.
