Throughout their journey, they have the help of Maqui, an on-board computer. Maqui helps them learn about the universe. Manuel, Leo and Gabi arrive at a new planet where day and night go by very quickly. Only Leo understands their fast chatter. He is a tongue twister champion on Earth. Maqui takes this opportunity to explain the phenomenon of rotation to the three friends.

    Georgia Tech's Parag Chordia believes music is a universal part of human culture, and his research shows music education can inspire greater interest in math, physics, and computer science. Chordia heads Georgia Tech's "Music Intelligence Group." With support from the National Science Foundation, his goals are to program computers to understand music and study the brains of professional musicians as they play composed music versus when they improvise.

    Bilge Mutlu, a computer scientist at the University of Wisconsin-Madison knows a thing or two about the psychology of body language. With support from the National Science Foundation, Mutlu and his fellow computer scientist, Michael Gleicher, take a gaze into the behavior of humans and create algorithms to reproduce it in robots and animated characters. Both Mutlu and Gleicher are betting that there will be significant benefits to making robots and animated characters look more like humans.

Maqui studies it and discovers that it’s a space station. The space station was created for all kinds of scientific research: physics and biology investigations, astronomic monitoring and studies on human beings in space. The kids land in the station and meet its commander, a computer called Inteligentis.

    Tornadoes claim hundreds of lives and cause billions of dollars in damages in the United States. With support from the National Science Foundation, computer scientist Amy McGovern at the University of Oklahoma is working to find answers to key questions about tornado formation. While video from storm chasers and data from Doppler radar can help meteorologists understand some aspects of tornadoes, McGovern uses supercomputers to find patterns in very large datasets. She also works with weather experts to help her sort out the information in the simulations. McGovern’s ultimate goal is to come up with reliable tornado forecasting system.

They try of convince one of its inhabitants to fly them home in his spaceship. But he tells them his craft is too old and cannot take them back to Earth. Maqui studies all their options and explains to them the necessary characteristics that a spaceship must have to safely travel in space.
