Wild Chronicles: Harvester Ants

Ants crawling on the ground. Caption: (Greene) One thing we're learning more and more about ant colonies

Harvester ants have a reputation for military precision, but one researcher in Colorado suggests they are more like a commune of free spirits. Wild Chronicles takes an up-close look at how altering an ant's chemical cues can change a colony's behavior and cause a mock battle. Segment of video from Wild Chronicles Segment.
