Glaciers are one of the main driving forces affecting Earth's climate and landscape. These massive sheets of ice are constantly moving and changing, and warming temperatures are causing most glaciers to recede. Located in some of the most inhospitable areas of the planet, scientists are venturing to glaciers to study them and looking for clues from past and present changes in climate.
