Earth's landscape has a wide variety of physical features referred to as landforms. Characteristics of the major landforms are illustrated with footage from North America, including the Grand Canyon, Interior Plains, and the Rocky Mountains. It is the tallest and biggest mountain on Earth, as far removed from sea level as it's possible to be--and yet its sedimentary layers contain fossils that were once creatures that lived on the ocean seabed. The Himalayas formed when India smashed into Asia--propelled by plate tectonics. Everest is still rising but its height is limited--extreme erosion counteracts and limits the amount of uplift.

At the summit, he sees large trees bending in the wind and clouds of snow swirling around in the sky. As he makes his way back down to the village, the storm blocks his way and he can go no further. Moko begs with the mountain to let him through, promising to tell no one the mountain's secret. The storm calms and Moko returns to the village. When Alarick asks him what he has learned, Moko tells him that the mountain's secret is not one that can be revealed.
The Magic School Bus is an award winning animated children’s television series based on the book series of the same title by Joanna Cole and Bruce Degen. It is notable for its use of celebrity talent and being both highly entertaining and educational. To celebrate the founding of Walkerville, Ms. Frizzle's class sculpts a stone likeness of its founding father, Captain Walker. But as they add the finishing touches, the statue tumbles down the mountain. Ms. Frizzle turns the bus into a giant boulder and the kids into rock kids. In this episode, Moko and Mei-Lei are gathering seashells in between the rocks on the white sand beach to decorate the village's houses. Moko asks Mei-Lei if they can go to other beaches to try to find other shells. Mei-Lei likes the idea and goes to ask a fisherman to take them to another beach on his boat. Just beyond the village Moko sees a vast plain that has been flooded with water. He thinks this must have been the great wave, flooding the field with water so that the rice would grow. This is when Mei-Lei picks up a magnificent seashell and Moko believes that it must surely be a gift from the ocean. Moko and Mei-Lei make their way back home, carrying their gift and happy to have seen wonderful new places. They are certain that the ocean must know an underground passage in which it sends waves every now and then to feed the rivers and the fields.
